Five Advice on Your sons or daughters & Television

January 10, 2012 | Author: MCmaxcruz | Posted in Home Brewing

Television is usually the worst influences on your child. But i am not saying who’s should be! Following these guidelines you can help your son or daughter have the benefits watching television without learning to be a dazed little “couch potato.”

1. Establish limits on how much TV your young ones watch. For you to do this at a very early age but regardless of whether your kids is older and has already got used to watching a lot of TV it is not past too far to start out putting limits on television watching time.

Our recommendation is that children under age 18 months do not view television whatsoever. Even though this may be challenging for you if you’re a bump on a log yourself, you may find that reducing TV is wonderful for you at the same time.

For youngsters between your age of 18 months and three years of age, I propose at most 1/2 hour of TV every day. And then for that 1/2 hour you should choose such as Sesame Street.

For children between the ages of Three years and 6 years old, I would recommend setting the limit at 1 hour of television each day.

After age 6 you are able to set the limit at A couple of hours. That should be good limit to your child in their developmental period. Once they reach their teen years you might like to be lenient as teens may rebel against an excessive amount of control.

2. Watch TV using your child instead of just leaving these phones watch it independently. When you watch the tv screen with your child, these are less likely to enter a harmful “TV trance.” It is good for you and your child to go over what’s on the watch’s screen. This makes the ability more thought provoking.

3. Never offer TV in exchange. You must not associate television as something that “good children” get to watch. It’s also wise to not use depriving them of TV as being a punishment. Usually when you use TV as a punishment or as a reward it places a lot of importance in the news to begin with.

4. Set a confident example. If you watch a great deal of TV then obviously it’ll be more difficult to convince the kids to refrain from giving the identical. Minimizing TV isn’t just a great thing for children, it’s actually a great thing for adults as well. When you’re more connected to life and fewer connected to mindless television you will subsequently be a better parent and a better person all over.

5. Select non commercial programming for the kids to look at. Essentially the most harmful a part of TV for children is not the programs themselves, it does not take commercials which help them learn to desire junk (both processed foods and junk toys.) Either have your kids watch PBS shows only or have them watch videos which can be free of commercials! Commercials truly rot the brains of children. Ensure your children are as without any advertising as you possibly can.

The negative impact of commercials is difficult to calculate. I do think it is possible a large part of today’s child obesity problems stem from commercials that make children desire processed foods. Obviously making sure your young ones eat healthy is another topic on the other hand think that by making sure your children don’t watch plenty of television commercials you will be able to lessen their desire for bad food which can make it much easier to acquire them maintaining a healthy diet foods.
